EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF ZEK GROUP INTERNATIONAL
Zadock Enock Koola is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of ZEK Group International Limited. Zadock founded the group over 20 years ago in Tanzania and ZEK Group International has since become an inspirational and dynamic name within the media and business industry in Africa.
Zadock has also become known as an accomplished and successful entrepreneur with a knack for building a thriving business enterprises across Africa. Despite difficult economic conditions ZEK has Group managed to grow steadily mainly on the strength of its focused, strategic and opportunistic approach both locally as well as regionally, mainly in Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Kenya and Uganda where the grouped is established.
Zadock has grown ZEK Group to comprise various companies across East and Southern Africa, engaged primarily within the communications industry, including advertising, public relations and out of home media. The group also holds a substantial property and investment portfolio.
ZEK Group is privately held and has its origin in Tanzania. The vision and goal of ZEK Group and Zadock is to establish the group as a true Pan African multinational.
Prof Ammon Mbelle is an Economist by training having attained Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics at the Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law, Sweden. He has published 23 articles in refereed journals including international journals; has authored one book; edited five; written 15 research reports and technical notes; 26 Chapters in books; 34 conference papers including international conferences and United Nations.
Areas of competence in Research and Consultancy: Industrial Organization, Public finance; Economic Development, Macro economy, Micro economy Environmental Economics, Poverty Issues, Millennium Development Goals, Regional Integration Issues; Education Issues.
Has undertaken consultancy work at both national level (contracted by Governments of Tanzania and Zanzibar; multilateral and bilateral organizations) and international contracted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) authoring country Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) reports for the Gambia, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and Republic of Yemen; as well as supported writing of Five Year Development Plan for the Seychelles.
Within Tanzania have participated significantly in writing key Policy and Strategy frameworks, most notably the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty “MKUKUTA” (I and II) and led a team that wrote Tanzania Long Term Perspective Plan and Five Year Development Plan. Effective January 2014 is on one year secondment to the Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development to lead the development of Tanzania’s Natural Resources Charter.
Professor Mbelle is member of the Association of University Lecturers in Sweden and the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics. He has served in the following Boards of Directors (Tanzania): Pugu Kaolin Mines Ltd. (State Mining Corporation, Tanzania), National Development Corporation (NDC), Tanzania, National Chemical Industries (NCI); National Insurance Corporation; State Insurance Brokers, Tanzania Investment Bank, Advisory Council on Labour, Economic and Social Policy (LESCO).
He has also served in the following Academic Boards: Collaborative Masters Programme in Economics for Anglophone Africa (member); Governing Council, Moshi University College of Cooperative and Business Studies (Vice Chairman); Center for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa (member); Governing Council, Institute of Tax Administration, Tanzania Revenue Authority(Chairman).
